- General Shell DiscussionWe love finding Sea Beans in Florida! We usually only find them after big storms. So what are Sea Beans you ask? They aren’t all beans and in fact most are fruits that contain seeds and are sometimes referred to as drift seeds. They come from rainforests, tropical shores, the Amazon river and many other locations. They fall from their parent plants into waterways and make their way into the ocean! Storms and currents send them allover the world. We would love to see any that you have found! - Support and FeedbackWe want everyone to get the most out of this community, so we ask that you please read and follow these guidelines to avoid warnings, suspensions and bans: 1) BE KIND - It’s the Golden Rule for a reason! Treat everyone with respect. This is non-negotiable. Failure to exercise self-control will result in Suspension or a Permanent Ban from the group. 2) NO ANIMAL OR SHELL POLICE - We don’t allow policing of any kind! No shaming people for the amount of shells collected. No shaming or policing of the types of shells or specimens collected! Live collection laws and regulations vary by location so NO questioning or policing whether something is/was alive. Policing will earn you an instant suspension or Ban from the group. 3) NO ADVERTISING - Advertising accounts start at $49/month and include exposure for your business, products and services on this website and in our Facebook community "Florida Shelling Fanatics". If you wish to use our Marketplace to buy, sell and trade products, shell crafts, shell art, shells etc you can become a Supporting Member for as little as $2.99/month or $29/year. Visit the menu and select “Marketplace” to view plans. 4) NO SHARING OF EXTERNAL LINKS WITHOUT ADMIN APPROVAL - First offense receives a Warning. Further Failure to comply will result in suspension or permanent Ban from the group. Influencers & YouTubers may share their YouTube videos by embedding them in the post by using the video camera icon and pasting the url to the video. 5) FLORIDA SHELLS AND BEACHES ONLY - Only posts related to FLORIDA SHELLS & BEACHES will be allowed throughout the forum. (Non-Florida content may be posted in the “Seashells of the World” forum). 6) FAMILY FRIENDLY LANGUAGE AND CONTENT ONLY - Keep your posts and comments family friendly for all to enjoy! 7) NO POST SHARES - In most cases if you find yourself wanting to share a post that you created outside of the forum it’s best practice to upload directly to the group versus sharing. Shared posts typically get less engagement and often times are marked as spam. Self-promotion, spam and irrelevant links aren't allowed. Businesses contact the Admin team for advertising opportunities. 8) ONLY POST YOUR OWN CONTENT - Do not post images and content that you did not personally take or create without giving credit to the author. We want authentic content in our community. Breaking this rule will get you banned. 9) DO NOT POST IMAGES AND VIDEOS WITHOUT CONTEXT - POSTS WITHOUT CONTEXT WILL BE DECLINED. Add information about what you are posting. Do not post an image or video without saying something about it. Examples include; sharing how you created a craft project, tips on how you cleaned your shells, locations of where you found your shells - even if just a general area. Information makes for great posts. 🤙🏼 🏝️ 🐚 ☀️ 🐠 🐌 10) AFFILIATE DISCLAIMER - We may share affiliate links and as an Amazon Associate we may earn from qualifying purchases.
